Just wondering if your heart slows down or speeds up when you're asleep
thanks!
we talk about this within my anatomy class yesterday. he said there are 2 kind of sleep; rapid eye movement (REM) and non fast eye movement (NREM). during NREM the body slows down, but during REM vital sings similar to blood pressure and heart rate increase. REM is also known as paradoxical sleep because the EEG of a creature in this stage of sleep looks exactly as when the character is awake. supposedly we go trough lots of this NREM, REM cycles during the night. REM sleep is also agreed as restorative sleep by the way.
It slows down at rest.
