Erector spinae?

What is the function of the erector spinae muscles when working together? And what is their action when working on single one side? Which of the transversospinal muscles rotate the spine and why?
The erector spinae, is not a single muscle, but rather the heading of a group of them
The main function, is to hold on to the throracic area straight, above the pelvis, such as sitting and standing straight....it EXTENDS the upper body when contained by those positions.
The group of muscles that for the bundle, are
Iliolumbaris
Iliocostalis,
Costocervicalis
Rotator spinae (from the upper border of the ribs to the trans verse process located one even above)
The latter, is the one that helps to rotate the spine, however, is too unsubstantiated and small to do it by itself alone. The name is purely historical, not a complete function.
Stronger muscles sre contained by charge, for that purpose, such as rhomboids /from the medial border of the scapula to the adjacent ribs, thata is an upper and one lower rhomboid within each side), serratus through, and the oblique and transverse muscles of the belly.
1) Sitting/standing upright
2) Leaning to one side
3) External obliques
